Building Greater Exeter Activity Review October 2018 – October 2020

Building Greater Exeter launched two years ago and was set up to support the construction sector across Exeter, East Devon and Teignbridge, to build their future workforce.

The review provides a summary of the key activity delivered since launch to promote careers in construction and the built environment and to attract more people to the sector.

This activity wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our project partners and together we have promoted construction as a career of choice to young people by attending over 30 events, reaching over 35,000. We have also created many opportunities for schools to engage with us and delivered an online Construction Education Hub.

In addition we launched the ‘Construction Job Shop’ to promote local vacancies and training opportunities and attended numerous events to support employers with recruitment and upskilling.

This year we haven’t been able to deliver as much activity as hoped, so the majority of outcomes were achieved by March 2020. We are however still busy attending virtual events, creating digital assets and looking at creative ways to promote careers in construction.

Many thanks to all our project partners who give up their time, knowledge and expertise, along with a financial contribution to help deliver the activity.
