We launched the project three years ago and since then it has provided many positive outcomes for the sector, supporting young people, job seekers and everyone to understand the opportunities that are available within the construction sector. In February 2021 we welcomed Jennie Linzell to the Team on a Graduate Internship as Project Coordinator.

Despite the pandemic we have created many opportunities for schools to help them promote construction as a career of choice, including video resources and with our partners delivered virtual activities and work experience. We are now starting to deliver face to face activities and support schools at their career events.

This year we launched our online ‘Construction Training Directory’ connecting employers and potential learners to over 250 courses in construction and the built environment in Greater Exeter.

In addition we continue to support employers through our Construction Job Shop and promoting opportunities for jobs and training at a variety of events. Working closely with the planning teams at the local authorities engaged in the project we are starting to see more opportunities for jobs and training in the local area through Employment and Skills plans.

Many thanks to all our partners for your ongoing support.
