Learning Curve Group is a key player in a high-profile Government initiative delivering 12-week intensive courses to get people into construction roles. We are working in partnership with employers to identify local vacancies and developing skills training programmes to meet these demands and to support progression to these roles as soon as possible. This role requires a highly motivated and self-driven person to deliver teaching, learning and assessment to learners on Learning Curve Group, Level 3 construction programmes. Tutors will have recent experience in the construction sector relevant to the course programmes which includes Health and Safety, Technical information, Quantities and Communication, and the Construction Industry and Built Environment. Tutors will need be sensitive to the support needs of both unemployed learners and those reskilling who are looking to develop the confidence and skills necessary to progress to employment. The tutor will take full responsibility for the effective running of the course and the associated administrative duties in accordance with the funding regulations.

Essential Criteria
– Good working knowledge of the construction industry
– Hold a teaching qualification at PTTLS Level 3 or be working towards one

Junior Surface Repair Apprentice

Our team repair everything from damaged window frames on commercial construction sites to floor tiles in £10 million houses and our apprentices are going to be at the forefront of this. Spending the first few years with one of our senior repairers you will be learning our complete repair process from preparation of surfaces to spray finishing, combining techniques from the French polishing and automotive sectors.

Your training will include learning the following practical skills: Masking, sanding, profiling, colour matching, detailing, spraying of specialist coatings, woodgrain replication, texture replication, free hand brush work, surface preparation, surface protection, paint mixing.

We want our apprentices to be our future leaders which is why you will also be spending time with our support team learning different elements of the business from customer support, marketing, finance and how our business works. Towards the end of your apprenticeship you will also spend time with the managing director and operations director to gain an insight into developing and running a national business.

Excellent earning potential on completion of the Apprenticeship programme – in the region of £19k per year.

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma
in Building Services Engineering

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Building Services Engineering is intended as a Tech Level qualification, equivalent in size to two A Levels. It allows you to develop significant core knowledge within building services engineering disciplines.

The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with employers and professional bodies to ensure that it is appropriate for those interested in working in the sector. In addition, higher education representatives have been involved to ensure that it fully supports entry to the relevant range of specialist degrees.

The qualification provides the essential knowledge, understanding and skills that will allow you to progress directly to employment, or to an apprenticeship in the construction sector.

There are six mandatory units, which cover the following aspects of construction:

– construction principles
– construction design
– health and safety in construction
– construction technology
– provision of primary services in buildings
– building services science

There are many roles in this sector where recruitment is at graduate level. The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting the admission requirements to many relevant courses. For example:

HNC in Construction and the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering pathway)
– HND in Construction and the Built Environment (Building Services Engineering pathway)
