Welders cut, join and shape metal and other materials, using heat and a range of tools. They are required on construction projects of all sizes, to do anything from fixing machinery to building bridges. Welders may help to construct the steel frames for buildings, support industrial projects, or even work underwater on oil rigs.

This course is designed around the use of the MAG welding process (Metal Active Gas, more commonly known as MIG welding) and is ideal for anyone who is in industry who wants to become a welder and already has some basic knowledge in welding, metal fabrication. On completion of this course enables progression on to the Level 2 welding and access to an initial coded welding qualification.

This course is available for beginners and improvers and for intermediate and advanced learners. During the course you will learn a variety of techniques but predominantly you will be taught MIG welding in our welding facility. The intermediate and advanced course caters for those who are working towards competency in welding, who either aspire to coded welding status or simply want to improve their skills.
