Women in Leadership – What made you want to be a Site Manager?
I decided that site management was the role for me as I Iove how it incorporates so many aspects of the construction process into your everyday work life. I appreciate the responsibility I have in ensuring appropriate quality and records are being produced and monitored to verify that works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements for the client. I enjoy the challenges Site Management brings when managing direct and subcontract labour, keeping my site diaries, reporting on progress, ensuring health and safety on site and understanding and implementing drawing details. One of the many benefits of my role is the social side and the constant change it brings. I am always meeting new people, learning, and witnessing change within the build every day. I enjoy the fact that depending on the programme, I do not work in the same area or on the same project for a long length of time which keeps the role fresh and exciting.
